Hydratech are showcasing their revolutionary DTX range of non-toxic, high-performance glycols at the AHR Expo in Atlanta, Feb. 6-8, 2023.
The UK’s leading formulator and manufacturer of high-performance glycols, heat transfer fluids, coolants and water treatment chemicals recently expanded their global operations, with the opening of their first U.S. site.

Located in East Granby, Connecticut, the new production facility and office space enables Hydratech to introduce their industry proven products and services to the American RAC, HVAC and renewables markets, as well as developing their existing relationships with the likes of Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Papa John’s and Haribo.

Hydratech revolutionized the European heat transfer fluid market in 2010, with the introduction of DTX technology. The glycol hybrids have been especially formulated for use in process cooling, refrigeration, HVAC and renewable energy systems - to exploit the advantages ethylene glycol has over propylene glycol, whilst delivering a non-toxic solution.

Coolflow DTX, suitable for use in all RAC, HVAC and glycol chiller systems, is industry proven to reduce energy costs (as verified by Star Technical Services), improve fluid reliability and prolong the lifespan of cooling systems. The list of Coolflow DTX adopters is now extensive and includes a host of well-known companies from the food and beverage sectors including, Molson Coors, Heineken, BrewDog, Saputo and McCain.

Specified by leading heat pump contractors, installers and designers, Thermox DTX thermal fluid represents a major step forward in heat transfer and pumping efficiency, providing >10% improvement in COP, ROI and heat recovery when compared with propylene glycol-based fluids - due to lower viscosity, higher thermal conductivity and reduced volume required to achieve the same freeze-protection.

Commissioned in thousands of commercial and domestic heat pump systems by industry leaders such as Kensa and Ideal, Thermox DTX is formulated with long-life inhibitors to prevent internal corrosion, scaling and biological fouling.

Other glycol hybrids in the DTX range include, Solaris – for use in solar thermal systems, Biotherm – for use in biomass heating systems, and Thermaflow – for use in hot water heating systems.
For all operators previously or currently using propylene glycol based solutions, DTX technology represents a major improvement in the Coefficient of Performance (CoP).
