On April 15, the 137th China Import and Export Commodity Fair (The Canton Fair) kicked off in Guangzhou. Against the backdrop of the continuous escalation of the US "reciprocal tariffs" and severely disrupting the global trade map, the two-way pursuit of massive exhibitors and buyers in the Canton Fair fully reflects China's resilience and confidence in foreign trade.
According to official data, the Canton Fair this year focuses on key markets, such as the "Belt and Road", RCEP, Europe and the United States, and has a total of 55 exhibition areas and 172 product areas, with a total exhibition area of 1.55 million sqms, a total of about 74,000 booths, and about 31,000 exhibitors. Among them, there were nearly 73,000 export expo booths, and the number of exhibitors exceeded 30,000 for the first time, an increase of nearly 900 over the previous session. As of April 14, more than 200,000 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions have pre-registered. In addition, 255 top 250 retailers in the world and major businessmen from all countries and regions will form groups to attend the conference, setting a record high.
This Canton Fair is held in three phases, focusing on the three major themes of "advanced manufacturing", "quality home compliance" and "a better life". The first phase was held from April 15 to 19. The exhibits mainly focus on household appliances, industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new materials and chemical products, new energy, hardware, tools, etc. A total of well-known home appliance companies, such as Midea, Haier, Gree, TCL, Hisense, Aux, Wanbao, SUNLU, Hailiang, Skyworth, Labao, Deye, Galanz, ICECO, Xingxing Refrigeration, and Shinco have all exhibit. Their related AI smart home appliances have become one of the seven most promising export product categories this year. On the first day, more than 64,000 overseas buyers attended the conference and hit a new high, and foreign investors were generally optimistic about China's business opportunities.
