CHINA: Recognising China as one of its major growth markets, Johnson Controls is to produce its M9310 actuator at its manufacturing facility in Wuxi.

Described as the world’s first actuator featuring universal input and automatic signal detection, the M9310 series of actuators allows contractors and distributors to reduce their inventory, while the automatic signal detection capability ensures ease of configuration during installation.

The Wuxi plant is the first site in Asia – second globally – to produce the M9310 units. The production process deployed in Wuxi is identical to the first plant sited in the US.

“The M9310 is a significant step forward for Johnson Controls and the building controls industry. The decision to manufacture such cutting-edge innovations in Asia marks another milestone in our continual progress to elevate manufacturing and quality standards in this region,” said Bernard Clement, director of HVAC product management, Johnson Controls. “Manufacturing in Asia, for Asia, also means reduced lead-times. Our customers will be able to quickly address their needs to drive success in the competitive marketplace with our high performance products.”

Johnson Controls is to open a second global corporate headquarters in Shanghai in 2017. This 35,000m² facility (pictured, top), serving as the company’s second global headquarters, is due to open open in spring 2017.
