Carrier successfully held its fifth Green Done Easy conference with a "Craft Meets Art - A Journey of Carbon Inspiration" theme at the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in the Lujiazui central business district of Shanghai.

More than 200 participants attended to discuss global climate change, energy shortages and ecological environment deterioration, while exchanging ideas on how to support green buildings and low-carbon sustainable development. Industry experts Ma Weijun, Vice Chairman of Building Environment and Energy Utilization Branch of China Engineering and Consulting Association and Huang Yonghua, Secretary General of Shanghai Institute of Refrigeration and Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attended the conference.

The green building industry is facing both opportunities and challenges under China’s dual carbon strategy, which plans to peak its emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060. The Carbon Emission Peaking in Urban-Rural Construction plan proposes that all new urban construction must meet one of the three-star green building certifications by 2025 to improve energy efficiency by 30 percent. Carrier offers a wide range of lifecycle solutions to meet China’s green building standards.

Carrier’s AquaEdge 19DV water-cooled centrifugal chiller featuring EquiDrive two-stage back-to-back compression technology provides energy efficiency improvements of 30% compared to the national energy efficiency standard.* For heating and hot water needs, Carrier's heat pumps can be applied in temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius, helping buildings transition from traditional gas systems to low-carbon electric systems.

Environmental Market Solutions Inc. (EMSI), a Carrier company and leading provider of healthy and sustainable building consulting services, provides strategies for HVAC efficiency, lighting, air quality, water management, building materials, comfort and wellness to assist developers in low-carbon construction. Carrier's aftermarket and service team provides energy-saving, retrofit solutions for existing HVAC systems. Carrier's building automation and digital solutions, such as Abound, provide customers with more efficient building operations and enable their digital transformation.

With more than 30 years in China, Carrier's innovative HVAC solutions have been applied to several Shanghai landmark buildings, including Oriental Pearl TV Tower, IFC Mall, Taikoo Li Qiantan and MAP, where this year’s Green Done Easy conference was hosted. During the conference, Carrier unveiled an original oil painting signed by renowned artist Yang Bing, a member of the Chinese Academy of Painting Arts Education Research Institute, to promote green buildings and sustainable development.
