Stream series of 4 cylinder CO2 compressors is the ideal solution for R744 booster systems. It is characterized by a design pressure of 135 bar. Refrigerant flow and heat transfer have been optimized for best performance. All compressors are equipped with CoreSense technology and offer the possibility to diagnose system-related problems faster or even before they occur.

The new compressor can be used as a standard medium-temperature compressor, as well as a parallel compressor in transcritical booster systems.

The semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor is the latest in Emerson’s offering of CO2 compressors. This line of Copeland CO2 scroll compressors is also designed for CO2 booster systems and uses “smart electronics”.

DVI injects vapor refrigerant directly from the flash tank (or an economizer) into the scroll compressor via an injection valve. The CO2 scroll compressors come in three ranges, one for medium-temperature applications and two for low-temperature operations.

The series of 4MTL transcritical models ranges from 5 to 50 hp; the series of 4MSL subcritical models ranges from 3 to 15 hp., 50 Hz supply frequency.

The line-up of 4-cylinder Stream semi-hermetic compressors for CO2 transcritical applications is the ideal solution for the medium temperature section of booster systems. This range is designed for maximum standstill pressures of 135 bar at high side and 90 bar at low side. Refrigerant flow and heat transfer have been optimized for best performance.

Stream CO2 compressors are delivered with POE oil. Large models (4MTL-35 to 4MTL-50) can alternatively be delivered on request with PAG oil.

Stream CO2 compressors have a large discharge chamber to eliminate pulsations. The cylinder heads and the discharge plenum are designed to minimize the heat transfer to suction side. Each cylinder head has a plugged 1/8" - 27 NPTF tapped hole on the high pressure.

All Stream CO2 compressors are suction gas-cooled. With suction gas-cooled compressors, the motor is cooled by refrigerant gas that is led through / over the motor. Depending upon the operating conditions, the maximum allowed suction gas superheat shall not exceed the values shown in the envelopes.
