Fujitsu Air Conditioning is looking to build up industry knowledge around the use of its systems by donating a range of equipment to a major distributor’s training centre in the south of England.

The company announced it will be providing numerous systems to air conditioning supplier FSW, one of the company’s longest standing distribution suppliers in the country, to offer guidance around installation and maintenance best practice.

Among the technology being provided will be single split systems such as those designed for the mildly flammable refrigerant R32 and its Airstage J-IIS Mini VRF and VR-II heat recovery system.

A wider selection of indoor units, including floor standing and wall mounted products, ducts, cassettes and controls has also been received.

FSW, which provides technical support and training services from a specially equipped facility in Southampton, is now hoping to offer training around using the technologies. Courses will include commissioning and troubleshooting split and multi-split systems.

The distributor said it also expects to begin offering special courses focused on use of R32, which is being offered as a solution to help industry switch to lower GWP gases as F-Gas regulation continues to impact the supply of more commonly used refrigerant.

Ian Carrol, sales and marketing director for Fujitsu, said the donations reflected interest in improving knowledge levels of its AC equipment in the industry.

He said, “Working closely alongside suppliers such as FSW on training initiatives like this will ensure professionals remain up to speed with the latest air conditioning technologies and systems available.”

FSW AC technical manager Andy Thomas said the installation of the company’s equipment at its training centre was a useful step in enhancing technical support services that could be offered.
