Testo Australia continues to help Australia's leading educational institutions prepare students for the real world by equipping them with the latest tools and technology.
The company donated equipment in September to ensure students have access to the latest tools handing over an electrical kit to RMIT University and the Box Hill Institute of Victoria.
RMIT University's School of Vocational Engineering is a big believer in hands-on industry experience for its students.
This is why RMIT doesn't believe in using practice tools that are 'similar' to what is available in the real world. Why learn from simulation when the instruments that are actually used by the professionals are available? It's an approach fully supported by Testo Australia.
RMIT's senior educator for refrigeration and air conditioning, Trevor Jenkinson, said the electrical kit provided by Testo is a game changer for the students.
Jenkinson has been working at the university for over a decade and during this time has never seen more useful tools when it comes to student development.
“These tools help the students work smarter, not harder, as they can gather information faster than ever before,” he said.
One institution that is busy training the next generation of industry professionals is the Box Hill Institute of Victoria.
Head of school, industry and trades Tony Watson and technical manager, department of air conditioning and refrigeration Len Raines , take particular care to ensure Box Hilll students are get nothing but the best in terms of real-world training and education. And to ensure this happens, Testo Australia donated an electrical demo kit to the school.
Courses using these kits cover a range of subjects - everything from minute electrical details to standard refrigeration and air conditioning courses.
Raines said the students enjoy working with the digital instruments and easy-to-use technology.
“Plus, with this being the leading equipment in the industry, these students are leaving the classroom ready to make it in the workplace,” he said.
