Each edition of ACREX builds its foundation on the success of previous event. The focus continues to be energy efficiency, green environment friendly products and automation with emphasis on local manufacturing for cost sensitive Indian market. It is for this reason the ACREX India 2016 theme is “Make in India” which is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.
At Bangalore in ACREX India 2015, ISHRAE made a conscious effort to focus on Cold Chain & Refrigeration products. This year at ACREX India 2016, the idea has taken a concrete shape with larger representation of suppliers from this industry. The visitors will be benefited from ACREX emerging as an integrated air-conditioning and cold chain show. Besides, products related to indoor air quality, automation, low energy etc from International & local companies will surely catch the eyeballs. Lastly, the large presence of International contingent will open new business opportunities.
Speaking on the trends that will be reflected in this year’s edition of ACREX India, Ashish Rakheja, Managing Partner, AEON Consultants; Chairman, ACREX India 2017; Chairman, IGBC Technical Committee; Chairman, FSAI Strategic Initiatives, mentions, “As all of us spend a majority time of our lives inside buildings wherein the air-conditioning systems play a centre role. After recent COP 21 meeting at Paris, Energy efficiency & environment protection are in focus. On top, the poor outdoor air quality in cities has also given additional responsibility to this industry.
These trends are reflected in the product display at ACREX India 2016.”
Opportunities Galore
Businesses across globe are converging rapidly. According to Rakheja, most major global HVAC&R manufacturing companies have presence in India market and a large number of them have set up a local manufacturing base. In addition, the Indian companies have also started venturing into International market wherein ACREX has played a major role in providing business opportunities as well as exposure to entrepreneurs. “Thus, in coming years, we will see Indian companies supplying world class products to countries in Asia, Middle East & Africa. Design outsource industry will also attract the attention of MNCs due to low cost man-power and currency devaluation,” he adds.
Future Awaits
The start of 2016 has brought in new promises and opportunities. For the past few years, the Indian HVAC manufacturing base has been constantly eroded with focus towards imports. Rakheja avers, “These are short term solutions and it is important that a robust local manufacturing regime is in place to meet the demand generated in the future by smart cities, urbanization and growing middle class. With nearly 30% of the booths taken by overseas exhibitors, ACREX India 2016 is a platform to not only showcase products but also form new alliances. He further adds, “India has a well qualified young population that can manufacture products at international standards. Hence, this year’s theme is in line with Prime Minister Modis” campaign “Make in India” -It is a way to introduce India as the perfect place to manufacture at international norms”. One thing is for sure, this year’s edition, will showcase the best the industry has to offer!
