Carrier Vector eCool units are now available and on the roads of Australia.
“We are excited to bring this sustainable solution to our customers,” said Stephen Elford, Managing Director, Australia-New Zealand, Carrier Transicold. “This fully electric trailer refrigeration unit operates autonomously without the need for a diesel engine.”
The Vector eCool uses cutting-edge energy recovery and converts kinetic energy generated by the trailer into electricity, which is then stored in a battery pack to power the refrigeration unit. This loop creates a fully autonomous system that produces no direct carbon dioxide or particulate emissions. Additionally, the system is telematics-enabled, which allows customers to use data to make faster decisions to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of their supply chains.
In January, Carrier announced it would have electric options for trailer, truck, and light commercial vehicle available for customers before the end of 2022, helping address upcoming emissions regulations.
