Trane is now offering its Airfinity rooftop air conditioners as a package with compatible photovoltaic solar panels.
Trane says that its new solar rooftop system offers European building owners the opportunity to implement a sustainable energy solution and reduce operational costs. The new system also complies with BREEAM and LEED certification.
Introduced in July, the Airfinity rooftop units are available in capacities from 40 to 250kW. Their tandem multi-scroll compressors with capacity modulation provide SEERs up to 3.5.
The silicon PV panels include mounting supports which also serve as a wind deflector and a high efficiency inverter to convert the DC power into AC power input.
According to Trane it will also be easy to upgrade already installed Airfinity rooftop units to the solar system.
