The 2016 edition of ACREX India, South Asia’s leading industry trade show in the fields of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC & R) and building services, is set to surpass the success of its previous edition. With 75 percent of the exhibition space already sold, event producer NürnbergMesse and the organizing Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) expect a record attendance. The event focuses on the tremendous opportunities of the Indian construction market and the increasing demand for adequate safety measures. ACREX India takes place from February 25th to 27th 2016 at BCEC in Mumbai.
- ACREX India is hub for entire building and construction industry
- “MAKE IN India” highlights market’s strong growth opportunities
- Extensive accompanying programme with focus on safety
“MAKE IN India - Infinite Opportunities for HVAC&R and the Building Services Industry” is the theme of the 17th edition of ACREX India, which will make Mumbai the hub for international construction experts in February 2016. The organizers expect a record number of 30,000 trade visitors and 500 companies that exhibit their products and services on a display area of more than 30,000 square meters. With the participation of major global companies and country pavilions for China, Germany, USA, Korea, and first-time Turkey, ACREX India offers a 360-degree view on worldwide trends in building design.
“ACREX India is developing into a key gathering of the national and international market players in the HVAC, refrigeration and building services segments,” says Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India. “From architects to specifiers, from consultants to developers – all look forward to this annual event. Both, ISHRAE and NürnbergMesse Group, see further growth potential of ACREX India over the coming years. Our goal is to open new avenues and make ACREX India the must-go-event for the building and construction industry.”
Infinite opportunities and increasing demands
The trade show’s theme “MAKE IN India - Infinite Opportunities for HVAC&R and the Building Services Industry” is strongly aligned with the current government campaign “MAKE IN INDIA”, a national program to attract investment and foster innovation. Indeed, opportunities in the Indian HVAC & R industry appear to be boundless. Over the next two years, the industry is expected to grow by 30 percent to a size of more than 30.000 crore Indian Rupees (4.6 billion US-dollar).
For two key areas of growth, smart buildings and the refrigeration and cold chain industry, ACREX India aims to boost participation with specialized pavilions. According to market observers, India’s home automation market is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 percent, closely followed by the market for refrigeration and cold chain with a CAGR of 25 percent. The pavilions highlight the importance of these topics and combine exhibitors to provide a comprehensive overview of these sectors.
International knowledge platform
“The growing middle class is the main driver for the upcoming real estate market in India. This leads to a large number of projects in urban centres and even at the boundaries of villages,” explains Pankaj Dharkar, Chairman of ACREX India 2016 and recently appointed National President of Fire and Security Association of India. According to him, this comes with a number of challenges. “The results are increasingly demanding requirements for services like air-conditioning, ventilation, fire safety, and plumbing. They require a higher level of engineering and co-ordination.” A gathering of international professionals, ACREX India also provides an ideal platform for sharing expertise between peers and expanding knowledge. The accompanying program will include workshops, conferences, and interactive panel discussions on a wide range of current topics. To further increase the networking opportunities, ISHRAE has invited more than 80 international associations. ASHRAE from USA, KRAIA from Korea, CAR from China, ISKID from Turkey, and UNEP are among the ACREX India 2016 expects record attendance Press Release – September 2015 Seite 3/4 participators. The encounter of worldwide experts provides the opportunity to learn and collaborate across borders.
Safety first
Safety issues will be a focus of the seminars in 2016. “Over the last decade, developers have constructed buildings faster and taller. While these strategies compensate for a lack of space for the rapidly growing population, they make cities much denser to live in,” says K. Ramachandran, National President, ISHRAE. “This scramble for growth has resulted in cutting corners on safety, legality and transparency. Such reductions may even result in fire due to poor design and faulty installations. Our seminars aim at creating awareness about the shared responsibility of designers, builders and occupants to engineer safe buildings. All sides have to practice regular maintenance and familiarize occupants with the safety guidelines.” To spread awareness and promote new solutions, ACREX India organizes expert sessions at the trade show and a nation-wide roadshow upfront. The 17th edition of ACREX India will take place at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) from February 25th to 27th 2016 in Mumbai.
