Daikin Europe N.V.’s subsidiary Daikin Air Conditioning UK Ltd. has acquired the British service company Robert Heath Heating Ltd. The deal that was signed will strengthen Daikin’s residential heating service network in the UK. The acquisition supports Daikin’s plans to become a total solutions provider while assuring excellent customer experiences. It is Daikin’s largest investment in the UK to date.

As part of its five-year Fusion 25 strategy plan, Daikin Europe is developing its service and solution proposition in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) market in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Heat pump heating is essential in achieving society’s decarbonisation targets. As more of its heat pumps will be installed, Daikin aims to make sure that the maintenance capacity follows suit. The acquisition of Robert Heath Heating will enable Daikin to scale up maintenance services for its residential customers in the UK. This is the latest innovation by Daikin in the UK - four years ago it established a market leading Sustainable Home Centre network where homeowners can get local advice, and where new heating and plumbing installers can start their transition towards heat pumps. Where the centre doesn’t provide servicing, Robert Heath Heating’s engineers will be able to do so.

Commenting on the acquisition, Daikin UK’s managing Director, Hiroyasu Ishikawa said:
“Daikin is already the UK’s leading provider of heating and cooling in the residential, commercial and industrial markets. Daikin UK’s acquisition of Robert Heath Heating reinforces our organisation and is intended to assure after sales support capacity in view of the increasing number of  customers who install our residential heat pumps. The acquisition will fuel growth and opportunities for both organisations, and ensure excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction.”

Robert Heath’s founder, Robert Heath added:
“This is great news for Robert Heath Heating. Thanks to Daikin, we will be able to speed up the move towards servicing residential heat pumps. We will continue to work closely with our existing partners in the heating and social housing sectors. We are looking forward to joining the Daikin group, who share the same customer first values as we do.”

Around 450 people work for Robert Heath Heating. This will ensure that it can meet the servicing and maintenance requirements of its domestic heating customers now and in the future.
