Daikin Australia has officially opened its new Daikin Park Melbourne facility in Truganina.
The warehouse facility of 13,603m2 has been built as a comprehensive logistics solution for Daikin Australia to optimise fulfilment and dispatch operations for finished goods and spare parts in Victoria. It offers a storage capacity of 40,000m3, facilitates the transportation of 700,000m3 of outbound freight annually, incorporates 13 loading docks for streamlined operations, and is powered by the Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS).
The facility also houses a Daikin Trade Centre a multi-purposes space that will be used for training and as a drop-in office for Daikin staff in the west of Melbourne.
The facility combines design innovation and energy-efficiency technologies, having been designed and built as a 5 Star Green Star facility - subject to certification. The site features a 99kW solar system, solar hot water and uses sustainably sourced timbers. Daikin says the site will operate as carbon neutral, in line with the company’s commitment to reach net zero by 2050.
