Expanding the lineup of eco-friendly products and making proposals to sites that emphasize food quality.

Hoshizaki Co., Ltd., a comprehensive food service equipment manufacturer, has developed the first deep freezer (ultra-low temperature freezer). Five models with different capacities will be released sequentially from July 26, 2023 through Hoshizaki sales companies.

The first deep freezer developed by Hoshizaki uses a CFC-free, environmentally friendly natural refrigerant. The ultra-low temperature of -60°C to 50°C maintains the quality and freshness of ingredients and enables long-term storage. From July 26th, we will start selling two models with a capacity of 199 liters and 471 liters, and we plan to release three other models by the end of the year.

Until now, ultra-low temperature storage has been used mainly in tuna handling sites because it is suitable for tuna, which tends to change color and taste. Currently, the food-related environment is undergoing major changes, such as the diversification of food ingredients, the problem of food loss, and the depletion of marine resources. In line with these changes, Hoshizaki will handle ingredients such as fish and meat that are suitable for ultra-low temperature storage, and will expand our proposals to restaurants and non-restaurants that emphasize quality. For example, fish and other marine resources are subject to fluctuations in catch volume, so by purchasing when the catch is abundant and storing it while maintaining freshness, you can reduce food loss and at the same time respond to cost fluctuations.

Features

  • Ultra low temperature of -60℃ to 50℃. It inhibits enzymatic decomposition of proteins and oxidation of fats, which affect taste, while preventing discoloration and deterioration of texture due to freezer burn.
  • Environmentally friendly CFC-free natural refrigerant is used. Hoshizaki has announced that by the end of 2024, all domestic commercial freezers and refrigerators will be switched to natural refrigerants. We will also use natural refrigerants in this product category to expand our lineup of environmentally friendly products.
  • Enhanced standard accessories. A basket, defrosting spatula, and partition plate are included as standard, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories.
