LG has donated four dual inverter air conditioners to Belgrade's Institute of Neonatology, which cares for prematurely born children.

Funds for the purchase of valuable assistance to the Institute for Neonatology were donated by donations from LG Serbia employees as well as employees from the company's regional offices.

“The donation to the Institute for Neonatology represents an investment in the future of children and Serbia and we are very proud to have been able to provide air conditioning to this institution,” said Branislav Jordanov, marketing manager at LG Electronics in Serbia.

The dual inverter air conditioners incorporate antibacterial filters and operate with lower GWP refrigerant R32.

Dr Milica Rankovic Janevski, the director of the Institute, said that the donation of air conditioners from LG was extremely important in helping to provide optimal microclimate conditions for the patients during treatment and at the same time provide good working conditions for caregivers.

“The Institute for Neonatology treats 20-25% of the total number of prematurely born children born annually in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and over 50% of those born under 1500g,” she said. “The treatment and care of this very vulnerable and at-risk population is a very demanding, complex and delicate job. In order to achieve optimum results, the highest level of survival and quality of life, it is necessary that high professional staff, equipment, space, as well as all accompanying conditions are provided at all times.”
