Daikin UK apprentice Orlando Rawlings carries UK refrigeration and air conditioning hopes at the 45th WorldSkills Competition, which begins tomorrow in Kazan, Russia.
Rawlings, a student at the Grimsby Institute, is now in Russia as part of the 37-strong Team UK squad competing against the finest young apprentices from around the world. In all, 1,300 young professionals from 63 countries and regions will compete in 56 skills in the competition which runs until August 27.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning event, pits Orlando Rawlings against 27 other competitors in a test of skills including brazing, equipment knowledge, installation, commissioning and adjustment, fault finding and component replacement.
