BITZER honours outstanding bachelor’s degrees

Representatives of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences again presented the Valerius Füner Prize at the BITZER trade fair stand at Chillventa 2018. The primary sponsor of the award was THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION. This year, the prize went to two students who studied for a BSc in mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration, air-conditioning and environmental technology.

Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is highly committed to educating its students. In the discipline of mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration, air-conditioning and environmental technology, especially successful graduates have been receiving awards for some time now – including the Valerius Füner Prize since 1981. The eponymous foundation which presents the award supports the education and further development of engineers in this field. This year’s award ceremony was held at 2 p.m. on the first day of Chillventa at the stand of the refrigeration and air-conditioning technology specialist BITZER. Patrick Horn and Tobias Nitschke, who was unable to attend, achieved the best results in their year. Both winners are now studying for their master’s degrees.

Rainer Große-Kracht, member of the Management Board and Chief Technology Officer at BITZER, stressed the importance of a good education at the ceremony: ‘The next generation of highly qualified talent is becoming increasingly important yet also harder and harder to find, even in our sector. We would like to thank Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences for its outstanding research and teaching work, as reflected by this year’s prize winners. We wish you all the best in your master’s degree courses.’

Founded by Senator h. c. Peter Schaufler, CEO of the BITZER Group for many years, THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION is the primary sponsor of the Valerius Füner Prize. Christiane Schaufler-Münch, Chairwoman of the BITZER SE Supervisory Boardand THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION Board of Trustees, presented the prize money and a small model compressor to the winner present.
