EasyParts site will now be available for German users to obtain air con and chiller components in push to emulate major online retailers
Johnson Controls is expanding an online service for obtaining chiller and air conditioning parts to its customers in Germany as it seeks to court growing interest for digital ordering.
The company’s EasyParts site, which aims to provide an “Amazon-style” service to supply some 30,000 spare parts and accessories for York branded systems, is already available for users in the UK and northern Europe, as well as the Middle-East.
Compressor parts, motors, bearings and valves are now available through the site alongside crankshafts and replacement condenser coils, according to the company.
Johnson Controls parts product manager Alpesh Trivedi said that in markets where EasyParts has been “actively promoted”, over 60 per cent of the company’s customers had opted to order spare parts online.
Mr Trivedi said, “Contractors have switched from traditional channels as it is easy to use and offers other significant business benefits.”
Users of the site are required to create an account and password online or via direct e-mail. Once registered they can then gain access to pricing and lead time information alongside the option to order new parts.
Johnson Controls has claimed that key benefits of the site include being able to get real-time updates on stock levels, as well as access to delivery tracking and an online archive of paperwork and invoices.
The company said the site is also able to provide a 24/7 service to order spares to meet urgent needs in cases such as a plant breakdown. If sufficient stock is available next day delivery can be guaranteed for orders before 2:30pm.
The company has sought to create a specialist online service based around retail giant Amazon exclusively for refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Kelly Nash, the customer services manager for Johnson Controls HVAC parts centre said, “Since being set up, thousands of orders have been placed with the site by 3000-plus active users, and the user-base is growing all the time.”
“Having proved the system, we are now rolling it out in Germany – an important market for many of the brands EasyParts supports – to give contractors full access to the benefits. We believe it will prove useful and help companies meet the needs of their own customers, in terms of delivering timely and right-first-time repairs to chillers and air conditioning systems.”
