The trade fair, held in IFEMA between 28 February and 3 March, received the visit of 49,935 professionals from 82 countries.
Four plenary sessions and more than 60 conferences brought together approximately 1,600 professionals within the CLIMA FORUM framework.
The workshops -Workshop on Applied Techniques for Air Conditioning (Taller TAC) and a Refrigeration Workshop- had close to 4,000 attendees.
Climatización y Refrigeración 2017 (International HVAC & R Exhibition), held between 28 February and 3 March in the halls of IFEMA, closed its doors with a very positive balance, with this edition having exceeded all expectations, having assembled more companies, and offered more content and activities, a reflection of a growing sector and a market enjoying a gradual reactivation.
This commercial event for the air conditioning, heating, ventilation and industrial and commercial cooling sectors showcased new products and solutions from close to 700 companies -with the direct participation of 360 companies from 24 countries- and received the visit of 49,935 professionals from 82 countries. These figures ratify its convening power and confirms C&R as Spain's most important international benchmark trade fair.
The national scope of this edition was also especially relevant, having received professionals from all Spanish regions. With this regard, it must be noted that visitors from Madrid accounted for 34% of all attendees, with the rest of national visitors totalling 56%. In addition, it must be emphasised that,after Madrid, the largest number of professionals came from the autonomous regions of Andalusia, Catalonia and Valencia, in this order.
With reference to international visitors, quantified at 10% of all visitors, professionals from 82 countries were welcomed, amongst which we can highlight those coming from Portugal, Italy, France, China, Germany and Morocco.
Professional qualification of visitors
With regard to the profile of visitors according to their activity, figures once again show that this event assembled highly qualified professionals. With this regard, worthy of mention is the important presence of representatives from installation companies, which totalled 21%; the distribution channel, with 16%, architecture firms, construction companies and real estate developers, with 13%, and engineering firms, with 11%.
A space for knowledge and the dissemination of information on the sector.
Parallel to the commercial exhibition, the programme of activities, conferences and workshops was also a resounding success, offering more content and technical conferences, and which once again turned CLIMATIZACIÓN Y REFRIGERACIÓN into a space for knowledge and the dissemination of information on the sector.
In this context, the programme of conferences and presentations of the C&R FORUM, which offered 4 plenary sessions on “Practical solutions in the design of a building with nearly zero energy”; “Heat pumps: natural energy + perfect temperature”; “The importance of engineering in the management of the life-cycle of resources”; and the “Use of natural and fluorinated refrigerants according to the type of application, operation and efficiency”, and more than 60 open-themed conferences, assembled 1,600 attendees.
Also covered within the framework of C&R were the Workshop on Applied Techniques for Air Conditioning (Taller TAC) and the Refrigeration Workshop, two activities aimed at promoting best practices within the installation segment. Initial calculations estimate an approximate turnout of 4,000 attendees.
In addition, the C&R Innovation Gallery was once again a genuine state-of-the-art showcase, presenting a selection of 12 proposals covering new products and solutions that provide an interesting perspective of R&D&I within this sector, and of the advances that are marking the evolution of this industry. All with a focus on efficiency, comfort and preserving the environment.
CLIMATIZACION Y REFRIGERACIÓN was held to coincide with GENERA, the International Trade Fair for Energy and the Environment, encouraging a professional hub of significant synergies in which the topics of environmental sustainability and energy savings were at the forefront of the content of both trade fairs. And for the first time ever, the event took place alongside the trade fairs of SIGA, which focuses on innovative solutions committed to suitable water management and sustainable development, and TECNOVA PISCINAS, which showcases installations, products and services targeting all types of swimming pools, as well as everything related to the world of wellness: spas, thermal facilities, home installations, etc.
