Natref System Manufacturers Top Carbon Clean List

A prestigious report published last week (15th August), includes the main manufacturers of natural refrigerant
systems among the top 200 companies ranked by their carbon emissions.

The report Carbon Clean 200 report mapped the amount of revenue that companies make through clean energy and renewable resources. It excluded companies that engage in negative climate lobbying, manufacturer weapons or use substantial oil and gas.

Toyota Motors topped the list for their huge renewable portfolio and for their continued investment in electric cars, followed by Siemens.

Natural refrigerant systems manufacturers have also been investing in other ways to tackle climate change.

Johnson Controls International (JCI), a global leader of refrigeration and chiller solutions based on natural refrigerants, announced on Twitter they were honored to make #3 on the first-ever Carbon List. The ranking reflects JCI’s focus on energy efficiency as a means for tackling climate change in recent years.

The Panasonic Corporation, manufacturer of small CO2 refrigerant units and which has also been investing in renewables like solar panels, came in at 5th in the rankings.

Emerson Electric Corporation, a subsidiary of Emerson that includes Emerson Climate, came in at 6th in the list.

Background

The “Carbon Clean 200: Investing in a Clean Energy Future” report maps the companies that are putting renewable and clean technology first.

The report has been compiled and published by Canadian-based Corporate Knights. The organization also produces corporate rankings, research reports and financial product ratings based on corporate sustainability performance such as Cleancapitalist.com and Decarbonizer.com

It is well-known for producing rankings for the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada and the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations.
